let's get to know each other

My name is Marissa Morales

I'm a 21 year old photojournalist and Chief writer for The Burrow established in San Antonio, Texas. In part of writing for an open community. We are dedicated toward representing and uplifting the voices of the students and community at San Antonio College. In addition, I have learned throughout my time finding new ways to combine my passions & hobbies allows me to explore and create on new collaborative levels. Not, only do I hope to expand and bring together positive change. But make it into a reality.

Everything in life is about people—

moments, and emotions that we want to remember.

During the early years of story telling I always admired the idea of speaking about important things we should know in our day. I found that quickly during my time at Villarreal Elementary in San Antonio, Tx. I was introduced to the "Jag" news segments that took place in the mornings! I would later receive my first digital point and shoot in 2011. In between that time, I was immersed in music and performance. That allowed me to connect that way and a combination of my passions made me entirely happy with dedication throughout its experience

After, I got ahold of my first DSLR back in 2017 it opened up a world of possibilities. I discovered that it allowed me to capture moments that are representative of my everyday life and surroundings in ways that went beyond simply taking a picture. Hopeful that taking advantage of the classes I had in high school would pay off. I enjoyed Digital Media and taking Journalism with the direction of Matthew Singleton under the "Gavel Newspaper" (2019) at Oliver Wendell Holmes High School. Not only has using my camera enabled me to connect with a variety of members of the community around me with confidence,

But it's has given me space to share that possibility to others as well. Lastly, my passion for the music scene has never left me, and it has inspired me try to combine photography and music. During, my time away from altering photos. I'm making soft piano ballads that have been recorded at various points in my life. That I also try to incorporate into my work as cover images. Lastly, having the opportunity to utilize my camera as a tool. I value being able to continue to connect with individuals across all topics that align with the community.

Capturing different areas of the community should be free, open and welcoming to all!
